As many of you know I work at Wild Birds Unlimited in Fort Collins. But, about 10 days ago a customer came in with pictures of a bird he's had wintering at his feeders - a Western Tanager. This fellow lives not quite 1/4 mile east of me. Lo and behold with in a week the bird visited my yard. Of course I immediately put out grape jelly and mealworms.. It took her less than a day to discover the jelly, but about a week before she'd eat the mealworms. She shows up bright and early with our Robin ' "Robbie" but at a different feeder, so now I'm feeding them both. What fun.
