How To Make Chokecherry Jam

First, you find a tree full of chokecherries.

Then you have your helper make sure they are ripe.

Then you pick and pick and pick chokecherries,

Until your bucket is full.

Then you add water and boil them.

After straining the skins and seeds out, you add a bunch of sugar and cook the heck out of it.

You try to not make a mess like this.

You boil the jam in jars for awhile.

Then you let the jars cool.

Then you take a nap.

We're Going On A Snipe Hunt, We're going to catch a big one. What a beautiful day! We're not scared.

So, a few of us girls like to hike. Not that you can tell that by this picture.

We see flowers and hummingbirds.

We see breathtaking views of sky, mountains and trees.

We see wild, dangerous water falls we have to cross.

We see weird special trees with snow knees.

We bring toys to play with, Dicky Duck, Daring Dougie, and shy Boogie Buggie.

We like to show off our great hat hair - Joan's cheating.

We are enthralled by Diamond lakes.

We cross dangerous rivers with skill and aplomb.

We admire things like dead trees.

We scramble across impassable boulder fields.

And we eat lunch with snipe.

Dachshunds N' Leather

Ma's cooking in the kitchen,

Dad's eating snacks. 

All we get is this leather chair,

 But our lips we still smack.

 Tryin' to be good, really we are, 

 But we're bored with no action,

Can we ride in the car?

 Still sittin here, a waitin' a posin',

Guess what's next? Hot dogs? Chips? Nope, simply dozin'.
