Al Kogler I Love You.

This is a repeat post of last year. We are in the middle of moving to a great new home, so I took the easy way out. Like the card says, The years haven't flown by, they've danced.

It's all Olan Mills fault really. This family;
Plus this family:
Equals this event:Plus this:
Equals this:
Now we're down to this:
And occasionally we get to do this:
Al Kogler, thank you for being brave enough to marry me 16 years ago. You are the best thing to ever happen to me in this life.I thank God for you every day.
I love you!
Let's go for another 16 or so, Okay?

Desperate Elk Wives

My squash garden harvesting came to a rather quick halt.

It seems as if Elk enjoy green and yellow squash as much as we do. More even.

Oh, hey! We'll polish off this nice butternut squash too, if you don't mind.

 There, it's quite finished.

Oops,  um, hello? Mind if I check to see if we got it all?

Ahh, so you tilled it all under. I guess we did get it all. That was some tasty squash.

The boys have a stand off.

You are outta here buster!

Chasing peons is a lot of work.

Sometimes dirty looks just don't do the job.

 Hey! Who are YOU?

Time to take the girls to the shade.

Ptarmigan Conference

So, the Snipe Sisters went Ptarmigan hunting.

Meandering about in the most amazing country, 40 degrees with about a 40-50 mph wind. Views that took your breath away.

Joan was cold.
Deb was looking. We were all looking and looking for ptarmigan.

And we finally found some. On the leeward side of the mountain. Momma and 3 babies.

Then two more, then 3 more.

These lovely birds were pattering ever so slowly through the tundra, picking and eating various leaves. We were spell bound.

They could have cared less. Eating and eating.

How many Ptarmigan can you see?
